New update to Merchandise
We have just released a new Merchandise feature that allows you to sell Merchandise from the first page of your event. Now your customers can purchase merchandise alongside their other tickets, or without tickets.
You also have the option of having the Merchandise appear on the page following ticket selection – this is automatically selected. We have now also relaxed the ‘Buy now’ button, so customers can progress to the second page (merchandise) without having to buy a ticket on the first page.
The new page looks like this:
The new feature allows you to add different size text, fonts and images to feature your merchandise options.
To use the new Merchandise page:
Login to your account, then on the left navigation panel click on ‘listing details’. This will open a new page, you will see this is where you edit the basic details of your event. If you scroll down you will see a number of selectable items.
Tick the box next to ‘ Show merchandise on the first page.’
Then tick the box next to ‘ Set Merchandise Copy’. Here is where you will set the text that appears above your merchandise and underneath where your normal tickets are.
In the Merchandise copy section - simply write in a directive for your customers. Eg: ‘Buy merchandise here!’ , ‘Select from the merchandise below’ or ‘Fancy adding any of these Merchandise options to your order?’.
Then hit ‘save’ at the bottom of the screen and you are done!
One final step before you are done...
You will now need to go to your 'summary' page and go into each merchandise ticket. Your merchandise + normal tickets need to be sorted. This means that normal tickets will appear first and merchandise will appear second, in the new feature. Each ticket has an 'edit' button, if you select this, you will be able to scroll down and see '
To test what it looks like, go to the ‘summary’ page on your left navigation panel. On this page you will see the event’s URL in blue. Click this to see what your customers see.
If you want to customise the information in the ‘Merchandise copy’ section,
Use the basic text editor above the text box, it will allow you to make your text bold, italic etc.
We recommend not pasting in formatted text from Word, as it will not display properly. For those that are tech-savvy you can change the fonts and text size by using a few html codes. These can be added in ‘Raw format’ – which appears underneath the text box. ‘Rich Text’ is what the customer sees. Remember to save all changes.
Here are a number of easy to use html codes that will change the look of your Merchandise text.
Add a Heading – (text size)
<h1> Your merchandise copy here</h1> - Very large
<h2> Your merchandise copy here</h2> - Medium/ Large - recommended
<h3> Your merchandise copy here</h3> - Small
Without html code:
or with html code:
Add a link:
<a href="http://www.w3schools.com">This is a link</a>
Make the text bold:
<b>This text is bold</b>
Here is a complete line of code that we recommend:
Copy this into ‘raw text format’ and click save.
<h2><style="line-height: 24px; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 24px;">NEW MERCHANDISE COPY GOES HERE! </h2>
It results in :
If you want to add an image to your Merchandise copy:
Images need to be hosted on a website to be added to this text box. There is an image icon where you can paste the image link.
You can also create an image that shows all of your different merchandise options. This will appear in the Merchandise copy section – above your merchandise options.
We recommend using Canva - https://www.canva.com/
It’s a free design application that allows you to create images to meet custom dimensions.
If you intend to design an image, we recommend roughly 600w and around 180t. It is intuitive, so many image sizes can be added, just be wary of how large you make it, so it doesn’t overpower the ticketing page.
